UTG's HUD stats were 50/22 at this point, had been quite the donk by playing way too many marginal hands, calling down to showdown with TPNK, etc. Didn't seem to have limped/called pushes previously but had open limped a few hands that hadn't been shown down.
Is this a standard push with 500 chips in the pot preflop? Better to just check, see a flop then push if a K or Q comes? Not quite short enough IMO. He simply needs to fold an unimaginable number of hands to make this good with your stack. Absent the PF raise from this guy, I would certainly look to go broke c-shoving a favorable flop.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't understand this....the guy is limping 50% of his hands....it sounds like hero is way ahead of villan's range. At 8bb's and no shorties, I'd push this as well. There is already 500 in the pot. |

I love pushing here cos even if he does call you're virtually never dominated. Also, if he folds you're ~33% up compared to a fold. Seems a decent enough chunk to me.
On the other hand the colour of the first repliers feet makes me question my play. |

Shoving over a button or SB limp is good here. But against this knucklehead on the bubble I think you need a better hand to go to the felt with....and mainly its because of his retardedness (read very little fold equity). Getting called here is not good. I think AJ+, (ATs), 99+.

Considering your stack and your read on his donkishness, you might very well be up against a suited ace or a small PP which he will eventually call. A medium Ace A8s/A9o+ would be good.

![]() Ahead of his range isn't the biggest factor. With 8 blinds (serving as a +, not a -), we don't want a caller. The disparity between the non-monster stacks isn't great enough to "welcome" a call from this guy. A few hundred less chips maybe. Someone break out wiz and see what limp/shove-calling ranges look like. |
