Playing at CP last night on the 1-2 NL (1-5 buy-in). After player in seat 9 busts 4 times max buy-in....he asks the chip runner for a purple chip. I ask him,"How will you post the blinds?" So on the first hand after receiving his chip, he tosses it into the middle of the table declaring all-in. He takes down the 3 bucks (what kinda odds was he giving?) "That's how!" Wasn't for long though....someone took care of that chip for him, not me of course. Anyway, point is, never heard of someone losing 4k in a 1-2 NL in one session. Fatshark |

This story would be way more entertaining if I had any clue as to the denomination represented by a CP purple chip.

purple is always 500, always. I've seen pink in cali but that is close enough to purple.
standard chip colors $1-white $2-blue, seems to vary $5-red $25-green $100-black $500-purple $1000-yellow |

And blue happens to be $10 in AC, whereas blue is $1 at the MGM Grand in LV. |

standard chip colors FOR VEGAS $1-white $2-blue, seems to vary $5-red $25-green $100-black $500-purple $1000-yellow [/ QUOTE ] FYP. Yes, these are the Vegas standards, and it's important for it to *be* a standard within vegas, to prevent angle shooters from slipping a different denomination into a stack. In Los Angeles, chip denominations are of a different set of colors: Orange: 50 cents Blue: $1 Green: $2 Dark Red-ish: $3 Yellow: $5 Purple: $25 White: $100 If I am not mistaken, Black is $500, but am uncertain there. Saw Larry Flynt in the big game at the Hustler last night, and I thought I saw racks of dark green with orange trim, but didn't get too close and am not sure the denomination. AB |
