Passwording my Wireless
hey all, I'm basically wondering how to set a password to my wireless router, so that no one can leech off my wireless internet without knowing the password? My dad is concerned about neighbours getting our signal and using our internet.
Any help? Thanks alot guys |

Re: Passwording my Wireless
The simplest advice I can offer is to tell you to go to the website of the company that makes your wireless router. The instructions are different for every router but it's usually very simple. The company's website will have step by step instructions on how to do this for your specific router.
Good luck! |

Re: Passwording my Wireless
If you're really concered you can also add MAC address filtering.
I'm not an expert though, so I don't know how that compares to encryption in terms of strength of security. |

I'm no expert either, but thats what I have at home and work for my routers, I only allow the MAC addresses of the computers that are supposed to be there and no one else can get on that network. I would like to hear from some of the experts here about the safety of this.
