Default Hand from the Wynn.

Fairly unknown player open raises UTG, all I can really characteriz him as a little loose and possibly bad but I'm not sure. I 3bet 2 seats down with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], others fold and he calls.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
He checks, I bet, he calls.

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
He checks, I check.

River: 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
He checks, I bet, he calls.

All comments encouraged.

If you're going to bet the flop, and you should, I don't see why you would slow down on the turn after you've made your hand. No cap PF so he most likely doesn't have a monster pair. Only 2 Q left in the deck, so there are very few hands you aren't beating on the turn.

you shoudnt have posted the river, know we all know he had no queen I sometimes use this line, but when you classify him as somewhat loose and possibly bad you just have to bet the turn and call down when raised.

no draw to charge so turn check is perfect, river bet is mandatory, however, i would raise river if bet into

I don't like this. What hands can we beat that villian is going to call with?

I think you underestimate how bad live player are. Villian calls a river raise with any pair IMO.

Everyone has this hand pretty well down. The K is either a disaster card or a dream card on the turn for him. If I bet again he will fold many many hands and checkraise with a few. I'd need a stronger read that he was a massive calling station before betting this turn with this hand. I'd bet AQ/KQ though, do you see why?.

BobT has a good point as well. Not only does checking the turn make my life easier and so on and so on it also keeps villian around and makes him more likely to call the river. With a hand like 77 or even A8 or something retarded he's WAY more likely to call a bet when it gets him a showdown then one where he's very likely behind and it's the first of two to get to showdown.

The above two reasons are enough, but there's a metagame bonus to this play as well. Most players won't understand the subtley of this play and it will just make you harder to read from their point of view. It will make them less likely to try to bluff me on the river after similar actions and maybe a little more likely to fold to my river bluffs after I check behind on the turn.
