PS3 launch the worst in memorable history

IMO at least. It has one game going for it which isnt too spectacular - Resistance. Right now it's purely overpriced hype. And even though it really doesnt make a difference the new advertising is horrid too the team behind it should be fired.

N64 Easily had the worst launch. Yes SM64 is an all time classic, but the launch was that and Pilotwings, that was it.

Saturn launch sucked worse as well and also GC was pretty crappy.

I remember there being only like 4 games for snes when it launched. I still couldn't wait for it though. My experience with the wii (not having one for a short time after the launch) reminds me of the snes a lot. Hopefully when I do get a Wii, I will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the snes.

Technically, Wave Race wasn't a launch title. It came out 2 weeks or so later.

The original Need for Speed was awesome. My roomate got a 3DO just for that game and I don't think he bought anything else for it, and IMO (at the time), he didn't have to.

To me, the PS3 launch sucks for the same reason the XBox 360 launch sucked - far too few units available for launch. If they are only going to have a couple hundred thousand units available for launch, it would be better to delay it untill they are ready for a true launch. Game developers rush their titles to make launch, and are rewarded with a tiny user base, which means they can't make a profit on the launch titles. So the consumers end up with only a handfull of mostly first party launch titles that were rushed to make the launch date.

Ok not the worse but disappointing. I dont remember 3DO's, and Super Mario 64 was worth buying a N64 for so even though it was weak overall the game made it worth it.
