I'm not us citizen and I have a european bank account in USD however all the USD wire withdraws have to pass through a intemediary bank in the US. 'Vicky' from the neteller wire team is saying they are having trouble with this because some US banks are not accepting neteller money, however I do not trust this vicky since she is lazy like hell and doesnt like to work. Is anyone having success with this?

i am sure if someone was not able to withdraw money from neteller, we would hear it from many different people on this board.
FWIW, i made a decent sized withdrawal today to my checking account. I don't expect any problems. |

I was about to post something similar. Neteller says that wire transfers in USD must be routed through a US bank and most banks are blocking the transfers. The only solution is to wire the money in Euros where the transactions do not go through US banks. This of course will cost some if your Neteller account is in USD instead of Euros.

Heres what 'vicky' told me
Hi x, Thank you, I have the letter from the bank. What currency is this account? If it is USD, the chance of it going through is very minimal. We have most International wires being rejected now. If they get rejected, it can take up to 30 days or longer for us to be notified as the US is placing holds on some of them. The US is also charging additional fees for the wires they let through. Sometimes the fees are as high as 30.00 and are paid by you, the recipient. This is out of our control so you must consider all of this before you request a wire. We recommend you choose a different currency such as Euro or GBP or Canadian dollars. If this account is USD, and you want us to send it in USD, we will need the US corresponding bank information before we can send it. All US funds must pass through the US. Vicky they might be just lying so I pay the exchange rate fee or it's really true, which does not make any sense since I don't have anything to do with the bill |

get it sent in CHF and have the reciving bank convert it back to USD. might cost a few % but it is worth it.

its going to cost huge, 1.9% of neteller then 0.5% on the bank, not a bad idea though. I still have hopes in making in USD

I'm also a non-US citizen. I asked for an international wire transfer 4 days ago. Here is the complete response e-mail that I think has been received by others in this thread:
[ QUOTE ] Dear XXXX XXXX, Thank you for your request. With the recent passing of the US bill, we have noticed the following issues with USD bank wires: A large number of rejected USD bank wire payments sent to international destinations Bank processing delays of up to 15 business days Bank charges of up to USD $30 fee per wire payable by the bank account holder The above issues are outside of our control. However, we remain committed to providing you with the following withdrawal options: 1. Issue a bank wire in another currency NETELLER can issue you a bank wire in Euro or GBP or AUD with a foreign exchange fee (1.9% + daily rate). Australian residents can have their bank wires converted into Australian dollars with the same fees applied. This may take up to 5 business days to complete. Please note the funds will be converted back to your bank account currency when they are received by your bank. Please enquire with your bank about any additional fees. 2. Open a NETELLER account in a currency other than USD Your existing USD account will be closed and replaced with a new currency account. Please contact us to initiate this change. 3. Use the NETELLER Card By certifying your bank account, we can give you a NETELLER Card which you can use to withdraw funds from ATMs anywhere in the world. To certify your bank account, we require a utility bill within the last three months and photo ID (a copy of your drivers license or passport). 4. Issue another USD bank wire We can issue you a USD bank wire, however we cannot guarantee that it won't be held by the US Federal Treasury. You may contact us at your convenience to make arrangements for your withdrawal. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you and thank you for your patience and understanding. To learn more about the impacts of the US legislation, visit our Business Update page. Thank you for choosing NETELLER. Mel [/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry to bump this back up. However, I'm not certain that the best course of action on this matter has been established. The fact that Neteller has simply appalling customer service and can't seem to help at all seems to make things difficult for us. Most of these options don't seem very appealing to me. I'm struggling to understand what being 'held' by the US Federal Tresury actually means. I'm interested in option 2, however, I can't find a list of the fees involved here. What are the problems with doing this? I take it you can have a neteller account in a non-USD currency and still deposit and withdraw into standard poker sites that use USD? I am wondering what other non-US citizens have done when faced with this response from Neteller and what have been their results. |
