Default 1989 NFL draft- Deion vs Barry Sanders

I was talking to a friend of mine who mentioned that Wayne Fontes was the reason that Barry Sanders was a Lion, as the rest of the management apparently wanted to draft Deion Sanders instead of Barry Sanders. Ignoring their current team (ie, assume that you have a replacement level player at CB and RB), who would you have drafted? I'm also assuming that Troy Aikman gets drafted third, but you could throw him in there, too.

Since Barry Sanders will get a vast majority of the votes in this poll, who thinks Aikman should be taken ahead of Deion now that we've seen their careers?

1. Deion
2. Aikman
3. Barry

Stud RBs just aren't as valuable as QBs and CBs.

QBs pwn all other choice.

I voted for Barry, but he's just not as valuable. HOF QB >>>> Greatest RB ever

Deion shouldn't even be considered really. Shutdown corners are not in the same league.

I agree: Aikman > Barry > Deion, and I agree with the "RB's are overrated" crowd. Maybe I'm biased because I hate Deion so much, I dunno.

I voted Barry. If you built an OLine for him (something Lions never really did), then you could have dominated a lot of teams on that alone....

I agree Aikman is amazing and all, but it would take more components around him I think to build a solid squad.

Deion heavily benefited from Cowboys D line, no?

Very overrated player
