Default Xbox Core System

I don't want the headseat and don't mind having a cord on my controller.

Why shouldn't I save $100 bucks and just buy the core system?

Removable hard disk, I think. Also, with the core pack you don't get component cables for your HDTV.

I think you underestimate the awesome wireless controllers.

Well, if you want to save your games, the 64MB cards cost ~$50. For the extra $100 you get the 20GB hard drive. I don't even know why they sell the core systems personally.

So with the "naked" system, I can't save any games unless I buy something else?

Is the price of the Xbox 360 going to go down with the imminent release of the WII and PS3?

It'll cost you $100 for the hard drive. You're better off just getting the Pro.

I bought the core system (it was early in when they were hard to find so I didnt really have a choice I nabbed it.

Wireless remotes are $50 alone and are really awesome, you get the HD cord (I know you dont have an HD set) and the hard drive, if you want to play Xbox games on the 360 you need the hard drive fwiw.

If you buy the core you also have to buy the memory card which is like $30-40, IMO its just better to get the primo, even though you dont really need the hard drive its nice to have and the wireless remote rocks. Basically you're spending $70 more for more memory, the ability to store songs and create customizable soundtracks in games, be able to download demos, have a wireless remote, and be future equipped for HD, worth it in my opinion.
