Default Automatic card shufflers?

We're about to add them at Foxwoods, I've talked to two people on them, and both did not want them.

First person10-20 Hold em player/retard)"If those things work the boxes would be clear."
Me-"If they didn't work, they wouldn't have a job."
Him - I call.

2-4 player
Those things work too good and Ace high wins
-they speed up the game
-Sometimes that's bad too, like when you're losing
-Yeah but they guarantee a good shuffle
-Yeah but if I'm not catching cards, with a regular dealer the dealer leaves and a new one comes in but with a Shufflemaster it's the same thing shuffling.

I think it was at about that point that Chuck Norris jumped from the rafters and gave him a roundhouse kick in the face for bringing money in to a casino and trying to play a thinking game.

Anyways, what are your thoughts on shufflers? Is everyone this superstitios about them?

these people that don't want them are morons. But the main casino i play at has had them since they opened the poker room. They make things run a whole lot smoother, one of the other places I play doesn't have them and play just drags on.

I was playing at Casino Arizona the other day and this guy next to me, who had been losing quite a bit and was on his last $30, kept on asking for the dealer to scramble the deck after each hand. One scamble wasn't enough, it had to be a good 15 seconds of scrambling too.

When another player asked him why he kept slowing the game down he said..

"Those shuffler thingies are rigged, just like the ones at the blackjack tables... that's why I don't play blackjack... well here at least."

IMO Autoshufflers are great because they make everything faster.

Thanks guys, been kind of a long week.(e.g. low limit) and I really have to do everything I can to not kill myself, even if that means asking you morose players.

FWIW there's a 75/150 player who asks me to wash the deck every hand(which I already) do and then he tells me to wash 'smaller.'

He's hilarious.

Sigh...

Shufflers are great for the house, the dealer, and the EV+ player for the same reason... MORE HANDS PER HOUR!

No brainer.

I love them they move the game along much quicker. Does anyone know how many more hands they turn out an hour?

There was another thread last week where the increase was said to be 4 hands/hour.

The point was also made there that if your dealers are slow, autoshufflers aren't going to speed your game much. I've only played at Foxwoods once, but when the game wasn't moving, it wasn't shuffling holding it up.

Tell the idiot the dealer does influence the cards because they always cut them once when they pull them out of the shuffler, so the dealer does effect what cards he gets but wither way as we all know the odds of getting good cards are the same.
