Default Simply pf question at 55s

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t20 (8 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1550)
MP1 (t2790)
MP2 (t1470)
CO (t1360)
Button (t1720)
Hero (t1610)
BB (t1500)

Preflop: Hero is in SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
<font color="gray">UTG folds</font>, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">MP1 folds</font>, <font color="gray">MP2 folds</font>, CO calls t20, <font color="red">Button raises to t100</font>, Hero ???

I have begun doubting the way I play AK in these situations. Reraising puts us in an awkward situation if we miss. Pushing just seems meh. Calling also seems bleh. Looking for any ideas here...

I think I would just call to see a flop. I don't know if that's bad or not though. No A or K flop get out. If you reraise he could reraise you all in and he might have A's or K's Q's.

I usually call, that's the standard STTF line. Although it seems like I whiff the flop about 80% of the time and have to fold, and almost never stack anyone. Which I suspect is because villain has an A, K or both. Then I get pushed off the hand by a cbet. We need to put a team of NASA scientists on finding a better line for these spots.

I would call some of the time and reraise some of the time.

Big problem with shoving is people will put you squarely on AK and you wind up racing against like 66. So now your 45-55 for your tourney life early, negating any skill edge you might have.

i've been calling here a lot lately just b/c i believe that if i whiff i am not denting my stack to terribly and i know i can outplay my opponents later on the bubble so i keep the pot small early here unless i hit. maybe i'm missing value here but i favor it over looking at a big pot w/A high after the flop.

I would just flat call. You're out of position which sucks, but I don't like re-raising given the stacks. Pushing would be fine I guess, but only if you think villian would call with AQ or AJ or something.

I like a flat call here.
