this guy has just lost about $280k (£150k) in about 3 days, which was about 75% of his bankroll:
http://88percent.blogspot.com/ Whats left of it looks doomed which is a shame cos he seems like an honest & nice guy, albeit a degenerate gambler. If you look back a bit at older posts you'll see what a rollercoaster the guy's been on. |

who'd've guessed playing $250/500 NL on a 280k bankroll ended up in busto?
(for people not good at math, that means it was < 6 buyins). |

here's an extract from the end of september when he was making cash:
[ QUOTE ] not to worry because today was awesome. i was so lucky as you'll see. i put £1600 into each of the top tables and cashed out about 75-90 minutes later £41,300 richer. i won at least 3 big pots (£16k-20,5k). 2 of them were just ridiculously sick. the first i have 55 in the small blind and raise to £240, the big blind made it £825 and i made the call. the flop came 3410. i checked and he checked also. the turn was an 8. i was sure i was ahead now and bet £720 into the £1645 pot. he then made it about £2545. i called (thinking/hoping i was ahead). the river...a 5. i checked and he bet the pot and a little more. i called and he showed 108 for top two pair. a 2 outer on the river for a £19k something pot. soon after i have 68 suited utg and raise, the bb re-raises and the flop comes A95 rainbow. he bets £1440 into the £1795 pot. i call, i'm not convinced he has an A, so if he checks turn i will hopefully take the pot there. the turn is a 10 of spades which gives me a flush draw. he bets £3300 into the £4655 pot. he's got £2300 behind him. i call and the river comes...3...of spades. he bets his last money and i call and collect a £16k something pot when he shows 999. i won a few pots and had £20k+ stacks on each table before dropping back a few thousand. This guy has BBV written all over him.
[ QUOTE ] there is of course still a decent chance i will go broke. if i do, i probably will never 'make it' as this is pretty much the best chance i'm going to have. if i do lose £30k or £40k i don't know if i'll be able to turn it around. i tend to have good runs and bad runs. the bad runs usually take me down to £0, hopefully now things have changed. [/ QUOTE ] All kidding aside, it takes courage to write that. |

I have this blog in my bloglines and read it frequently. It's the most incredible story/rollercoaster you'll ever read. You should make it a regular stop for entertainment and astonishment value.
He build that $250k roll or whatever it was within 2 months or so, too. Nuts |

an entry from just a couple weeks ago:
"i was looking back at a couple of posts awhile ago. 7th august and 15th august. how bad things were then. i was actually borrowing money and losing it all on the bottom cash tables for 2 weeks. so i have decided i will never go broke again =). no more full-tilting for me. the next time i do tilt i will go back to these posts and realise how much i don't want to be in that position again. i am so lucky to be where i am now and i've finally got a decent bankroll, especially for minimum buy-ins, or perhaps, only for minimum buy-ins, which is fine because that's what i'm going to do for the next few weeks/months." oopsie! |
