Default Article on WinHoldEm Bot in Wired (link)

So, these must be semi-effective for there to be a strong community of users. The collusion is especially annoying...sigh...

That's just depressing. I can't figure out how the developer lives with his conscience. All this "civil disobedience" crap is just plain BS. He's simply out to destroy online poker.

Either way I still don't like playing online because there is always that shred of doubt that the game isn't 100% fair, and this just further confirms that. I'm fortunate to live very close to Atlantic City, but I realize that for many people the only option for a game is online. In a casino you know that what happens is a true random event, but you can't say that for online regrettably.

I'd believe the "destruction of online poker" theory. There are many people who hate poker, and gambling in general. It's possible that one such person (or group of persons) has introduced this to try and bring it down.

I'm more likely to believe that a programmer was trying to find out if he could make a program that could play poker, and then realized that he could turn a profit from it.

Here's a funny post on their forums that references the 2 + 2 forums here:

Looks like we're doing our part to stop teaming!

I wonder what would happen if all 2+2ers posted at his site at the same time. Lengthy messages, donchaknow. Nah, his server probably couldn't handle it............

A guy in reference to teamplay:

"...guess i have morale problems although i love the bot it is just an extention of yourself..."

Lol, talk about self delusion. The bot is just "an extension of yourself".
