AK line help
Please help on this hand as I don't know if I played it correctly. Villain is pretty donky. Over 200 hands, he's 62/37. Total aggro is 2.59, flop aggro is 2.6, turn aggro is 2, river aggro is 6. (btw, no notes on orginal raiser)
Here's the hand: Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 5 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $66.35 CO: $78.95 Button: $53.25 Hero: $50.50 BB: $47.25 Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, CO raises to $2, Button calls, Hero calls, BB folds. Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($6.5, 3 players) Hero bets $4, CO calls, Button calls. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($18.5, 3 players) Hero checks, CO checks, Button bets $14.5, Hero calls, CO folds. River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($47.5, 2 players) Hero checks, Button is all-in $32.75, Hero calls all-in $30. Uncalled bets: $2.75 returned to Button. Results: Final pot: $107.5 I'm completely lost as to what I'm supposed to do. Please help out a noob. |

Re: AK line help
This the Constantine fellow?
I probably lead again. He could have any K here, a flush draw, maybe A7, straight draw, QQ, some wide range. As played I probably just check raise all in here on the turn. He thinks QQ is a huge hand here. Sorry he had 86 or 96 or whatever. |

Re: AK line help
Reraise preflop.
Flop good. I'm betting the turn. Most often the calls are weaker Kings or flush/OESD draws. You need to bet for value. If someone pushes you can think about folding. River is tough. It's hard to see a worse hand betting so strong. I'd have a hard time folding though - pot odds. |

Re: AK line help
I didn't know he had 86 or 96, I just assumed that by the fact that you are posting this cooler hand here.
Against this guy, I go broke here everytime. His range is wide open here. He overvalues good preflop hands (TT+) and top pair hands. He assumes since he is so crazy aggro preflop that people will give him action with crappy hands. I got stacked by him earlier with KK against his 86. I don't regret it at all. I know that he would play a whole bunch of hands I beat the exact same way. Edit: I don't know if I played with you, I was just playing with him earlier today. Oh, and against him I 3bet him preflop EVERY SINGLE TIME. This guy makes his biggest mistakes preflop. Take advantage. He also plays horribly in reraised pots. |

Re: AK line help
3-bet PF from the blinds -- and make it a big raise. It's tough playing OOP against a guy whos range is any two cards.
Other than that, I'd lead the turn again, probably fold to a raise. |

Re: AK line help
so you guys think that reraising the flop with AK from the blinds is much better? I just find it so uncomfortable to play a big pot with that hand OOP. Am I being too weak tight?

[/ QUOTE ] It's pretty easy. Most of the time they fold. If they don't and you miss the flop, bet around 1/2-2/3 of the pot as a continuation bet. If that doesn't work, you usually give up. |
