Default This is why you should TRACK your HANDS....

Boys and girls, this is why you should track your hands when you play poker as well as read and apply the 2+2 books.

Otherwise you will end up like these people:

pokerconduct.net

(I found this site entertaining for some reason. I guess I am bored)

I have been playing serious poker for about two years now and am finally now starting to see some profits, but online poker has got my game in shambles and I'm close to quitting it all together.

A few instances on PokerStars I'd like to share, first I was playing a 20 dollar buy in 180 man tourney, got to the final 10 people where the money starts getting serious if I made it to the final 5 or so. Well, 10 left and I catch the pocket bullets raise 4 times the blind because I'm in first position, and a player, the chip leader at the tourney who had just been moved to my table puts me all in with his 500K. I think for a second, to try and figure him on a hand knowing I will call anyway and I concluded A-K or K-K. I was correct putting him on kings. I'm all in knowing he is a 4.2 to 1 under dog. I'm felling pretty good then the flop... K-2-K... I could not believe it! Then to top it all off they hit me with an Ace on the river. At the casinos where I'm from, that's considered a bad beat jackpot worth 50,000.

Well, I concluded that PokerStars program rewards the chip leader while punishing the smart very disciplined player. The next incident is about the same, 180 man tourney, different tourney with the same set up. 18 placed in the money, pocket Aces AGAIN [final 10 again]. I say I'm not giving a chance to let it happen again I'm pushing em all in before I get sucked out, A-5 suited in diamonds calls me and hits a flush on the river. I lose in 10th place again. Coincidence? I still don't know.

I am starting to shy away from online gambling because I don't know if it's my game or if it's the computer program itself. I'm a pretty good player with not a lot of money and when I lose 10th in 2 tourneys the same way when dominating pre-flop, I start to think it's not me and its some one there knowing what cards are coming out. Would a seasoned veteran with the chip lead put 3/4 of his chips at line in hopes of a flush? You tell me.

As a good poker player [me], getting better everyday, I hope it was just a lucky guy who was rally lucky on these days, but I still have a feeling someone knows what's coming on the flops... Or better yet, the river!

Thanks for listening,
chris

Wow, thats amazing.

He actually tried to put someone on a hand when they pushed into his AA preflop.

Also, seeing as this is a 180 man tourney, just how DID the CL get 500K chips? Surely this is a bigger cause for concern than the 4:1 loss.

I do love how these theories come around. The title of the piece is "Pokestars program rewards the chip leader".

And another good one:

As an engineer for Intel, I can tell you that the so called random number generator (RNG) is not truly random. It is a computer software program that has been structured to simply run like any other program.

At Poker Stars, their RNG is powered by Sierra Software (rubbish), written some 8 or 9 years ago. It has merely been updated to run on the Internet. If you really want to get better at online poker, check out ebay, flea markets and garage sales. Find an old copy of any Sierra card game and just play with it. Pay attention to the patterns and sequences as you play, take notes on how the cards fall etc., pay attention to those little idiosyncrasies that catch your eye and your game should greatly improve!

Poker Stars has serious house players prowling around their tables. They say they don't... but they do... Some of us are tracking their dealings. After all, they're not the only ones who can ping and trace

Remember, if you can think of how to do it, somebody else can think of how to undo it.

Someone should consider telling the 'Intel Engineer' to at least read the website which goes into further detail on the RNG.

Oh, and provide little evidence when you claim something like house players prowling.

Talked with an old farmer friend at the local B&M yesterday. He had an account at Poker Stars which he stopped using for a while. When he came back he found somehow they had withdrawn $700 from his checking account at TCF Bank in Minnesota. They stole from his checking account.

WTF!

Exactly HOW could they do this? AND if they could, surely you simply tell the bank and they look into it.

Likely explanation:

Old farmer guy is made up
Old farmer guy enjoys gossip and makes stuff up
Old farmer got drunk, lost the months mortgage payment and had to make up the story to stop old farmer wife from butchering him in his sleep.

Damn, I wish I'd thought of this! I'll bet the site owner is raking in the bucks from the donations!

Ever notice while playing a tourney at Poker Stars that they block the chat if a player goes all-in or they block observer chat if you haven't paid an entry to the tourney.

I've always wondered why they do that (ha ha). Actually, I do know why.

Geez, at a B&M game, if a player goes all in, I don't see the PokerRoom manager coming and taping everybody's mouth shut so they can't speak and I sure don't see them kicking out observers who want to watch the game and maybe say something.

Ever have this happen to you? You have a premium hand and decide to either raise the guy all in or just bet all-in. Some Ding Dong calls you with a 4/7 off suit and ends up winning the hand and suddenly, as you bust out... Mysteriously and miraculously the table shuts right down, leaving you sitting there wondering what the heck just happened? You don't even get a chance to question the guys actions. Ever have this happen to you?

Something is definitely not on the up and up when sites like PokerStars resort to this type of action towards it's players. Gee I'm wondering why??? he-he-he

Still room in the alien sightings market?

Also, this site is so [censored] up. They lie to get people to donate money to them so they can make an "honest" site.

Lol, I'd love to know exactly how he's "pinging" the IP's of people at his table, when that information isn't available client-side.

Yeah, this stuff is real funny until they turn the DOOM SWITCH on you. Then to top it off, the customer service acts like they have no idea what you're talking about when you tell them to turn it off. Yeah, like they aren't in on it. Come on people - open your eyes and feel the truth.

This is some great stuff. Its hard to pick my favorite one. This one is solid gold though.

Everyone knows it's rigged, yet they still play and loose. Why? Because they're gamblers. They always think they can get lucky, beat the odds and come out a winner.

I love poker as much as anyone, but after trying and failing a number of times online, I have decided that some things are just more important. Until the integrity of these sites can be guaranteed I won't be spending another cent in them.

Now some people will say maybe I just can't play. Well it's not that hard is it? After three or four months of constant play and an IQ over 80, anyone could say that their game is solid: "The rest is just luck", and it's all bad with these online poker sites. So I'm out for now.

In relation to constructing a site which is honest, don't bother because the numbers don't add up. You cant make a profit on rake alone so inherently they are all cheating us out of our money to exist.

PS: I'd rather donate $50 to a site such as this one, in order to educate the general public on the conduct of these scamming thieves who destroy our game.
