Bottom 2 pair on a big board
No read on the button.
Did I push this hand too hard? Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
call 3-bet. I think I'm calling the turn unless K or T comes.

I don't like the push.

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Unless he's on a flat steal, this flop is likely to connect with hands that button will raise with PF. His initial post flop bet might still be a automatic C-bet after stealing with trash but once he calls your flop raise you have to give him some credit for a hand. Call the 3-bet and re-eval on the turn.

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Ok, let's say I called the 3-bet, rather than pushing. Do I need to see a Q or a J on the turn to invest more money in the hand?
In the actual hand, the turn was a 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. If he bets, do I fold? |

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Fold preflop. Seriously, calling with QJo in the BB is really bad.
After his 3-bet on the flop its unlikely bottom two is good on this board, Im folding. IMO fold > call >>>> push. |

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Is it really a bad preflop call against a button raise? I'd agree if the raise came from early position, but a typical button will raise with some very bad hands. Why not see a flop here?

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Because it is a junk hand oop. There have been some good threads in ssnl about playing in the blinds against a steal, try a search to see if you can find any of them. Generally, if you have a playable hand in this position it is better to reraise than flat call, but folding QJ here is pretty standard.

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
Why are you calling a PF raise OOP with QJo?
As for the flop action, Unless I know villain is an idiot who will felt TP I just call the 3bet. His range has you crushed and it looks like he wants to play for stacks. If he comes in for a decent bet on the turn I let this one go. Board: As Qd Jc Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 38.4184 % 37.75% 00.66% { QcJd } Hand 2: 61.5816 % 60.92% 00.66% { AA, QQ-JJ, A9o+, KTo } |

Re: Bottom 2 pair on a big board
I did read some of those old threads. Here's a link to one:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...art=10&vc=1 In the thread there's a quiz with these 3 questions: 1) You have 7c 6c in the BB. Everyone folds to a 2+2er who open-raises on the Button. Folded to you. Call, fold or raise? 2) Same scenario as above except your hand is As 8d. Call, fold or raise? 3) Same as above except your hand is Ts 9c . Call, fold, or raise? The general consensus answers were: 1.Call 2.Raise 3.Call Very few people answered "fold" on any of those hands. It seems to me that QJo is at least better than T9o. |
