Default Lost, move up to get even?

I have read many posts about people losing money at lower stakes, and then trying to get it back at a stake much higher than usual. What kind of thinking is that? Some of the lucky ones got back even from a higher stake and immediately move back down, and others lost even more and went bankrupt.

When I just started playing, I used to have this kind of urge. Nowadays I would think if I am already losing money at a lower stake, why would I want to lose even more money for the same kind of mistakes at a higher stake? Bad beats could definitely cause a couple buy-ins, but the remaining 10+ more buy-ins are totally due to bad play. Moreover, there is no way you can play your A-game when you are playing way over your bankroll.

May be I just don't have the guts?

I think most people with any sense are joking when they are suggesting this.

Are you replying to the OP? If so, this makes sense. If you're responding to me, then I'm beginning to wonder if this post is 11th level sarcasm or something......

Totally incorrect thinking, when you go on a losing streak, you're due by the law of averages to win soon, and you'd hate for that winning streak to hit at the same or lower stakes, so move up and profit.
