Did I not get served?
I was sleeping just now and the doorbell rang. I peeked out a window and saw a fat woman standing there looking at the door (I had a surveillance location that she wouldn't see). She waited 2 minutes and rang the bell again. She waited another 2 minutes and went back to her red Audi wagon and took off from the subdivision.
Anyhow, I'm looking for possible reasons that she could have been there that don't involve someone trying to bring a lawsuit on me. I figure that mormons or political campaigns would be going door to door, and not just at my house. |

Well you can't avoid it... hiding does you no good.

Re: Did I not get served?
I assumed she was selling something, but her immediate exit disproved that theory. Had she been selling something or preaching something I'd be happy with my play. Since that's not it, I wish I had just found out.
I typically don't answer the door when nobody is expected. |

Re: Did I not get served?
Are there any reasons you might be served? It sounds like you might have known something like this was going to happen.

[/ QUOTE ] I was served once a long time ago when a guy who ran into my car sued me for $250k (attempted pass while I was turning left). That ended up not even making it to court, but it was a bizarre experience that involved an unknown person coming to my door, and the only time that it wasn't a salesman or something. I figure with an open wireless router here I could be sued for all sorts of things relating to the internet. Hell, maybe I'm being sued for calling someone a retard on 2+2. |

I'm looking for other reasons that someone might come to my door that isn't UPS or FedEx, and isn't going door to door to sell things.

Re: Did I not get served?
Sure sounds like a service attempt. If she comes back, you know it is.
Also, expect a phone call in your future. Or calls to your family/friends. Pretending to verify an address ("We have a package for such-and-such") is a standard ploy - my Mom fell for that. Posing as Alumni Relations to my grandfather was a nice try that failed - I don't talk to him and he has no idea how to get a hold of me. |
