Default Fold this river, largish pot

PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks.

Should have raised here, but I'm playing weak due to the massive downswing.

Flop: (3 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: (3 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB calls.

River: (6 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB raises, Hero...

A lot of draws came in there and the pot isn't huge yet. I have only been at the table for just over an orbit, but this guy has been loose and passive.

Meh, really not enough information to know what to do. Protected pot, passive opponent, prolly a fold, but the only way you get really effed calling is if Button 3-jacks it. So, unless the Button smells tricky to you, whatever.

It's a protected pot checkraise from a LPP, so I'd fold.

i don't know if most 0.5-1 players know what a protected pot is so i wouldn't even worry about that, if he is loose and passive you're beat here. the other dooder will still call so you can see his hand anyway.

A pot that it would be very foolish to bluff at. Examples:

-There are a lot of players and the chances of someone having a made hand is too high
-Someone is all-in and the side-pot is small
-Someone has shown a lot of strength and is very likely to want to show his hand down
-Some players in the hand are very loose and will call down with almost anything

Based on your limited read and the size of the pot a fold is in order.
