Default Waiting for the turn

Table as a whole is very loose and passive.

Full Tilt .50/1 (9-handed)

Preflop: marchron is Button with 10[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls, marchron raises, SB folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (10.5 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, marchron checks.

Overpairs are good. But a lot of turn cards kill me, and this table will stay in with ANYthing.

Have I finally mastered waiting for the turn?

This looks right -- they're going to stay in with draws anyway.

I don't know if this is sarcasm or not.

Agreed. To let this get checked through kills kittens. If you were bet into, then I would advocate waiting for a safe card on the turn. But, since it is checked to you and you were the preflop aggressor you've got to bet.

Bet the flop, if this game is loose someone would bet
TP. You need to protect your hand and not give your opponents a free chance to draw out on you.

Who am I trying to get rid of? If I bet, that makes it 11½-1, enough for gutshots to call. The only draw I'd be able to price out are backdoors.

Overcards. Not to mention the 65% of the time no one will
make a flush. That's even if someone has 2 hearts.

Don't be passive.

Hmmm, what's the better deal for your opponents: Getting 11.5:1 odds to call and see the turn or getting to see the turn for free?

*grunch*
I thought it was about betting for value, if nothing else. Do I have this wrong?

Are the odds of the collected drawing possibilities of your opponants enough to give you incentive not to bet? And in that case, would you have folded against a bet on the flop?
