Canterbury for the next few weeks?
Is anyone going to be at Canterbury in the next two weeks for the fall classic? I'll be heading up there to play a few tournaments and the 15/30, and possible 30/60 limit hold'em games.

Re: Canterbury for the next few weeks?
I'll be there. I'll be playing the 10/20-20/40 omaha/8 or the 30/60 stud/8 if it goes. I usually be the only one under 40 in these games. If there are no other games I will be in the 15/30 limit hold'em.

Im leaving on the 19th, and coming back on the 27th... I'm 19 so I'm afraid no public drinking will ensue...

Re: Canterbury for the next few weeks?
Anyone wanna stake me for one of the small buy-in NLHE events? I am definitely ++++EV against the CCC crowd, especially in NLHE... but have no money. Woo tuition.
Anyway, from what the dealers say, those O8 games are just ridiculously soft when they get going. |

Anyway, from what the dealers say, those O8 games are just ridiculously soft when they get going. [/ QUOTE ] On any given day there is only one 0/8 game going. It's $4/8 with half-kill. On Monday only it's 10/20 with half-kill. web page Canterbury Park Poker Room currently spreads the following games: Texas Hold'em $2/4, $3/6, $4/8, $6/12, $8/16, $15/30, $30/60 Seven-Card Stud $2/4, $3/6, $4/8 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo $6/12 Omaha Hi-Lo $4/8 with Half Kill, $10/20 with Half Kill (mondays) Perhaps during the Classic they will have a whopping two tables at night for O/8... But why anyone would want to play that tortuous game is beyond me. Unless you enjoy playing with THE oldest players in the house AND getting quartered and scooped AND watching these players being clueless about who has the winning low hand most of the time... As far as the Classic itself, it's always a great time. Well run by Jimmy Sommerfeld. And they also have super satellites for the main event as well as one table satellites to win lammers. The one tables range from $45 to $120 and you get a whopping 300 play chips. I'll be in Event #3 on Monday. Purple and yellow Canturbury cap and white hooded sweatshirt. |

There are much, much worse ones out there. Have fun everyone - I might make it up there next weekend. |

Re: Canterbury for the next few weeks?
Just got back from a donktastic 7-hour session...
Ran into Milo at the 8/16, and that game is by far one of the most action-filled games in the room. Variance can be a mother just to WATCH it happen, but very profitable if you can hold out. Got there at a little after 9 AM and they were running satellites into the FPC events. Stayed kinda quiet for a few hours, but by noon it was pretty well set, and I can only imagine later tonight as more players bust from the tourney. |
