Do you expect anything when a waiter dumps a drink in your lap?
Last night at PF Changs a waiter dumped an entire majito directly into my wife's lap. There was no way she could sit through the meal, so I ran out and bought her some pants (this was in a shopping complex), she changed, and we went on with our meal. At the end, the bill included everything, including the drink.
I was kind of upset, but then thought about it. I guess a restaurant comps you something to keep you happy, but after she got new pants, we enjoyed our meal just fine. Do you expect something done for you in this instance? Do you complain about it if it isn't? Lettuce wraps rule.

i would at the very least expect my drinks to be on the house and would probably mention it to the waiter. or just deduct it from his tip.

WOW.
If I was the manager, I would: a) Comp the meal b) Pay for dry cleaning c) Offer $ for a subsequent trip Anyone with any business sense realizes that a happy customer is more valuable than their bill. That being said, you should of gotten at least half the meal comped or something. Anything.

OP, I'd love to be able to handle myself the way you did.. Not necessarily because of the way you handled it, but because if you didn't fly through the roof like I would have, you are probably a very laid back guy. I need to borrow some of that from you.

[/ QUOTE ] I am pretty laid back, but usually this stuff makes me go off. However, when it happened, and along with wanting to get the kid out of there, the thought honestly crossed my ming that I'm stupid to feel entitled to anything. The problem was essentially fixed (albeit through a pair of $45 pants), and we otherwise enjoyed our meal. It sounds stupid now, but it was enough to get me out of there.
