Default Snowball138 vs. aggro busket dude at the gas station

I go to the gas station yesterday afternoon to clean my windows. I get out of the car, and this dude comes over to me and says "No, I'll do that". I respond "No." He ignores me so I say "Don't touch my car." He flips out and walks right up to me, invading my personal space.

My martial arts instructor told me to put one foot back and put your hands up, but not make it obvious that you are in a fighting stance, so this is what I did. I don't let him get way too close to me, and I start apoligozing. He says "You can't talk to me like that. I should kick your ass right now". Then he walks around to the back of my car, and starts trying to make fun of me for driving a toyota.

He was acting really aggro with me, and wouldn't leave me alone, but I chose to just wash my own windows and try to ignore him. He probably threatened me about ten times, but I apologized about 11 times, so I think I tired him out.

I'm about 5'10'' and weigh maybe 145, and I'm not that strong, or proficient in martial arts. He was probably 6'2'' and weighed 200 pounds or so. I had my knife with me, so I wasn't that scared of him. He also looked like he was drunk. Last time I fought a big drunk dude, I won, because he was too sloppy. I think this dude deserved an ass kicking for his ridiculously aggro behavior, but I wasn't gonna be the one to give it to him.

I shouldn't have said "Don't touch my car", because he was black, and he probably thought I was being racist. He later asked me if I was from the south, and called me a hillbilly. What a moron. I live in Brentwood and grew up in LA, and I wear button up shirts. I don't look or act racist at all, plus I'm "uber-left wing" (as hmkpoker says).

Everytime a busket dude washes my windows, he wants too much money and he does a bad job, so this is why I said no. The reason I was so firm was because in my past experience, they simply won't take no for an answer.

Any additional thoughts? How do you deal with busket dudes? Should I have just hopped in my car and driven away? Should I have threatened to call the cops? Should I have notified the gas station manager that they they have a drunk agrro busket dude on their property?

A 10 year old girl with a knife would be a favorite over Mike Tyson.

It's a knife, not a machinegun.

As long as the 10 year old knows how to use it. If he doesn't, he's more likely to have it wrestled away from him and then be killed with his own knife. Much like you would have been had you decided to pull it on the "busket" (whatever the hell that is).

LOL
You're assuming:

1. I don't know how to use a knife

2. Random Busket dude is proficient in Escrima

In general, knife disarmament is a joke. 8 minute video on why (somewhat annoying editting)

Segment from video (less than 2 minutes)

I don't think this video got the attention it deserves. To anyone out there who trusts my judgement, watch this thing! You're in for a treat around the 1:05 mark.

Actually a 10 year old girl probably wouldn't have enough reach to overcome Mike's punches, but I think a random adult male with a knife would be a favorite over Iron Mike. The main point is that if I drew my knife and he engaged me, drunk busket dude would have almost no chance of surviving the encounter.

Andrew First, the Kickboxing champion of Poland, and 2nd degree blackbelt died from a knife attacker. Kuba Tokarz, Polish Judo Champion was wounded in a knife attack in a bar. He's paralyzed for life.

Knife > Busket
