The largest red flag that comes to mind is getting one side to go through and have the line move against you before you lock the other side. On a relate note, if you find a line that is "obviously off" and the wager wins, the book may cancel the bet, leaving you with a large loss at the other book.

If you're scalping 1-5% arbs, it won't take many miscues to seriously hurt your BR.

Obviously, it can be profitable as well. I don't have enough experience to tell you how often the above may happen.

If all my arbs were 1-5% I'd be filthy rich.

I pulled 1-5% out of the air based on memories of some I've seen recently in SB....but I guess some are tying up funds for a lot longer. Entirely possible I only remembered the bigger ones and certainly I am missing seeing a whole lot of smaller ones that don't get posted.

The vast majority are like for 5-30 bucks and return .25-1%

kaboshedx,

Arb'ing is time-consuming, difficult, stressful, and to make it worthwhile (as a primary or even good secondary income stream), you need high a six-figure bank account.

Except for the fact that I worked on several arbitration models for baseball, I suppose not.

Maybe arb'ing is worthwhile to you on a lower bankroll, but I can find much better things to do with my time.
