Default Turningstone October Poker Weekend

Hey, was wondering if anyone is planning to go to this? It's from the 19th -22nd (Fri-Sunday for School people.. good timing) and has 3 tournaments from $200-$500. Anyways, i'll probably go unless there's a school conflict, haven't been to TS before. Also, if anyone has come down from Ontario before, is the best way to get there by Train or should I find a quick, cheap flight? I think it's only a few hours by Train so not sure if finding a flight is worth it, thanks and hopefully we can get a good turnout.

From Ontario, you could also use Greyhound buses. They run frequent buses from Toronto thru Niagara/Buffalo, to Utica. Easier to find something that fits in the time budget too. Trips vary between 6.5 hours to 8.5 hours depending on time of day and transfer stopovers.

Neglible costs between that and taking Amtrak from either Toronto or Niagara, but more frequency with Greyhound. Travel time is basically the same. ($100-130 USD)

GL.

Frankly surprised Amtrak runs that well out of Toronto these days, but I'd take that alternative. Probably not this fall, but if they still have spring stuff at TS, pretty sure I'd get there.

Question regarding reservations.. do I have to have a credit card to book a room? And, there's a special rate at the hotel for the tournament duration, do I just have to show them a tourney receipt upon checking out or do I need to tell them beforehand that i'll be playing in tournaments?

Pretty sure you need a CC. You call up the front desk and ask for a room at the poker rate. Then, either get a slip from the poker room, or just take the tourney slip to the front desk when you get a chance. Just be sure to show'em the slip, otherwise you'll be billed full price.
