Default 2/4 overpair question

so I'm playing some NL again and I think the hardest thing for me to get used to in the transition from limit to NL is relearning the value of overpairs and TPTK.

Anyway, guy is an unknown, but is sitting on ~$1000 and hasn't done anything dumb over the course of 25 hands or so.

I have $550 to start the hand.

NL 400 on party

guy opens $14 in the HJ, I raise to $44 in the sb with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], guy calls.

flop ($90) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
I bet $77, guy raises to $190.

Is it best to just push the flop? Or c/r the turn all in? Anybody fold? What if we had JJ or QQ how much does this change things?

definitely don't fold. his most likely hand is an overpair below yours or a diamond draw. you want to get allin here, most people won't fold here once they've put this much in so a push is fine. if you had jj/qq i think i'd still be getting all-in as you'll see a worse hand here enough. the lower your pair the more likely i'd be to fold (TT is probably a fold, QQ no and JJ maybe). that's opponent/image dependent though.

this deep, you think an average player is calling a push with a lower overpair?

(not disagreeing at all, just asking)

Well I don't think he has a boat, if that's what you're asking. Pushing here is def. the best play as KK-JJ are all definitely calling, as is something like Adxd.

depending on image, yes

without the diamonds calling then check/raising any turn would be better I think

He will call with naked KK and QQ-JJ with a diamond if you push imo.
