Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
Today in the middle of my session on PP I received a pop-up message from PP saying their system had "detected you are using software that gives you an unfair advantage over other players" and that I need to close the software or else "if you persist with the software then per our terms and conditions we take all the money in your account, etc..." All I had running was Poker Tracker, but I thought PT was fine. Is there something I need to be aware of?

Re: Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
Only running PT but I was playing on my Dad's account instead of mine, I do that from time to time, suspicious enough to warrant such a message?

Re: Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
No I've posted in the PT forum and if that doesn't get a response then I'll send an email to one of the PT guys. Nothing about it on the PT website either.

Re: Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
Did you use PokerEDGE or PokerProphecy or visit their websites recently?
PokerTracker is allowed at Party and all other sites it supports. Anyone getting this message got it due to other software. |

Re: Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
Some people who have just visited websites like pokeredge or winholdem or something have received such a message.
Perhaps because just visiting the site leaves a cookie on your computer?? So if you...or anyone else has visited such a site at some point then perhaps that is triggering their little warnings. This is something to take EXTREMELY seriously. Party can and will lock your funds even if you aren't doing anything wrong. And I wouldn't want to have to be in a position to try to convince them to give me my money back. Unfortunately, my recommendation in such a situation is to not play anymore on Party until you figure out what is triggering the warning and then hopefully eliminate it from your computer. Might be a bit of an overreaction though. Another option would be to keep your balance on Party a bit lower than normal to a level that wouldn't be quite as painful if Party's top-notch team decided to confiscate your funds. |

Re: Party Poker Don\'t Like Poker Tracker?
This is why I use a separate PC for poker. There's nothing on it but XP, PT, PA, poker clients, KeePass, Firefox for the rare occasions when I have to connect to the net from that PC, and a photo editing program so I can grab occasional screen shots.
I never, ever, surf the net on that PC. I keep SNGPT, Pokerstove, etc. on another PC. |
