Package Split (Opinions Wanted)
For all practical purposes this is hypothetical. Assume a friend wins a freeroll tournament while playing on your account. The tournament package is worth $18K and includes:
- $3K Spending cash - 2 Plane Tickets to an out of country destination - 10 Day stay at 5 star resort - Buy-in to a large buy-in main event tournament Since the account is in your name, you have to play in the tournament as the friend will not be allowed to. What is a fair way to split this up assuming the person not playing will not be going with the tournament player? |

Re: Package Split (Opinions Wanted)
did this freeroll cost fpps? or how about being a specific level member? Could he have created his own account and played in this freeroll?

you owe friend cash for everything. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not aware of your financial situation, but let's look at this a different way. Assume you and me are good friends and I am playing a FREEROLL on YOUR account. This freeroll was earned from playing a specific amount of hands. I just happened to sign on and see that you didn't know when it was and I decide to not let the freeroll go to waste. You are not home and I play for you. I win an $18K package on your account so you are the only one eligible to claim it. You are saying that you should give me $18K cash money in return. As I said, I do not know your financial situation. What if you only have a $10K bankroll? What if you have a $100K bankroll? Is it fair for me to rape you of something you didn't ask for? Now I'm forcing you to give me $18K and you may get nothing in return, you may not even have that much or it may be a large percentage of your bankroll that you wouldn't waste on such a large buy-in tournament. So how do you compensate me in a more fair way to both of us? |

Re: Package Split (Opinions Wanted)
ah, well if you earned the freeroll that changes everything. i expected you to reply about the whole bankroll thing and the fact that you wouldn't enter the tourney on your own to which i had a suggested plan. however, since you essentially paid for the entry you are entitled to a significant chunk of the win. since you aren't going to be paying him for the trip, you should give him 50% of your action in the tournament and most of the cash. if it was me, i would give the full 3k.

Re: Package Split (Opinions Wanted)
I suck at reading.. so he can't come with you.. then i'd say just divide the spending cash, you go on the trip (can't let that go to waste), and give him 50$ of your actin.

Re: Package Split (Opinions Wanted)
Giving him the 3k and half your action in the tournament seems fair. 3k must be close to the value of the trip, if not then perhaps some extra $ to make things equal.
