Notes on villain coming into this hand: pot sized bet turn, river w/ a full house; minraised 2 limpers w/ garbage.
He obviously likes his hand on the flop. I've got the nuts. He's probably drawing to 9 outs. If he checks the turn to me, I just push for < a PSB. How's preflop? Anyone just get it in on the flop? I hate hands like this - so easy to get stacked. You've got nuts on flop but you suck at redraws. What do you do when a T, J, Q or K come on the turn or river? It's very easy to go bust here. This leaves the question, is it sometimes correct to fold to heavy flop action here, or is it always correct to GAMBOL!!!!

I think the answer is it depends how deep you are. If you just have a buy-in, get it in. But if you're two, three, four buy-ins deep, you have to be able to get away from this hand.

Seriously? Get away from it how?
Let's say the effective stacks are like 2 or 3 buyins deep. If I raise it to about $75 and he just calls and have $175 back, the pot on the turn will be ~$150 so I'll have about a PSB left. Can I really read a hand well enough to tell if he's got a better fh after I flop the nut fh? I'd be getting ~2:1 either way and would think I pretty much have to get it all-in ASAP. |

Pushing the flop looks like the right move. He almost definetly has an Ace I would assume. He will most likely call with an Ace cause he probabally has good kickers and most just don't fold it, but by pushing you might be able to make him make a mistake by folding. Probabally slim but >0 and it would be a good result. Plus as roundtower said he might not put any more money in if he misses the turn.

I'd just get it in on flop--sure it might get him to fold but it saves a potential headache on a turn decision.

Yeah, I'm getting it in either way. A turn card might or might not kill my action (any [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]). He could be pushing this hard with a fd, but actually I had a note on him that said he under bet fd's. And there's no way I'm folding the turn. If he's got an Ace, he's probably got 3 other cards along with it that could pair up and there's no way to know if his kicker (kicker the right term in Omaha?) paired to make his Aces full better than mine.
I wasn't concerned with getting away from the hand at all, I was just thinking about the best way to get all his chips in the middle. I wondered a little about preflop too, but I think I have enough equity and implied odds here. It seems like Omaha is a game where the real hand starts on the flop. If preflop was bad, I just wanted someone to tell me that too. |

With less than a PSB behind, get it in on the flop 100% of the time. A532 on an AA3 board is not a situation to slowplay. Foe is 40-60 on the flop with an A and three overs to the 5 and will call your push.
