Unknown villian sat with a random amount like 353.91, so he may be playing with his whole roll. He doubled it by catching a river flush. I suspect he is not very good and playing way above his roll, but he seems pretty fearless and stupid.
I think it is fair to say that the table sees me as a maniac. I made a huge bluff on a missed flush and got called, since then I tilted and started playing nearly every other hand. I am well aware that everybody is just dying to double up on me. Onto the hand: He is currently at ~$850, Hero covers. No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $3/$6 4 players Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raises to $18, 2 folds, BB raises to $30, Hero calls $12. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($63, 2 players) BB bets $48, Hero thinks and ?? What do you do? a) Hero bets pot and folds to villain's push b) Hero bets pot and calls villain's push c) Hero pushes flop d) Hero calls and reevaluates on turn I am not making a poll because I am hoping you will put down your line and explain why you chose it. I will post the rest of the hand later. |

d) Hero calls and reevaluates on turn
You could be behind, but you are in position. Villain's action/reaction to the turn card will help your decision. If you pot it here and villain pushes, you could be folding the best hand or calling with the worst hand. This requires more information. I did not give this much thought. Your avatar is distracting. |

just call and re-evaluate on the turn.
you are going to be a dog against any of his range that would play back at you if you raised. doesn't make much sense to gamble with deepish stacks in this spot imo. |

I assumed there would be a mix of answers for B and D.
I chose D. Call and re-evaluate on the turn. My reasoning: Villain's min-raise PF painted a pretty easy picture of AA/KK/AK. I do not think that QQ is really in this range as I think he pops it up much higher preflop. If villain has AA/KK, he must think he is ahead of me on this flop. If he has a heart, he is probably foaming at the mouth trying to get money in. If he doesn't have a heart, my flat call could very easily be seen as a high heart draw, it would be very standard of me to pot this flop with a set/straight/two pair. So on a blank turn he will probably bet large trying to push me off of a draw, or suck in some value from a Queen. If a heart does come and he has a heart, he will continue to bet strong (or possibly slowplay allowing me to possibly fill up cheap). If he doesn't have a heart, he will shut down. Being in position makes life a lot easier. So I decided that on any turn not containing a heart, Q, K, or A would pay me off big time. Here's the turn: Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($159, 2 players) BB bets $782.30 all in, Hero calls. Anything else to do on the turn but call? This was a great turn afterall. Comments plz. EDIT: Is this spew or standard? |

Close decision I think.
Villain probably puts you on a high heart after your flat-call. You are rarely drawing dead, sometimes ahead, sometimes drawing to 6 outs. AA with the heart seems like a probable holding for him, although AKs hearts is possible. |
