Highest Paid Acting job of all time?

I was searching through wikipedia the other night and looking at different actors and how much they made for certain movies and I was starting to wonder what was the largest sum of money an actor was paid for one movie?

Anyone have a clue?

Mike - any actor (and it would likely be an actor, not an actress) who has had gross points on a major blockbuster is in contention.

Since there are relatively few actors that can negotiate for gross points (or net points that translate to actual $ earned by the actor) - I would have to guess it is either Tom Cruise for one of the Mission Impossibles, or Keanu Reeves for the Matrix sequels.

Jim Carrey is one of the highest paid of all time as well.

Keanu Reeves earned 15% of box office sales for Matrix Sequels. $110 million for Matrix Reloaded and another $65 million for Revolutions.

He gave the majority of his earnings away including millions to costume designers, special effects, etc.

Edit: I don't know for sure if the figures I listed are correct. I Googled the box office sales and looked at the first link.

I think if you adjust for inflation, this is the winner, at least in terms of salary vs. screen time. Brando ended up with about $14 million (in 1978 dollars) for roughly 10 minutes of screen time; so, $1.4 million per minute. Arnold got $25 mil for 20 minutes in Batman & Robin, which at $1.25 mil/minute is still less than Brando before adjustment.

I think that Julia Roberts was the first actress to get 20 million dollars for the movie Erin Brockovich(2000).

Tom Hanks gets gross points as well. i think Cruise has made over $100M for a film, though.

I think Nicholson set a record for his part in Batman, since he got a good cut of the profits. I would be kinda surprised if that record stood, though.
