For some reason, I think his new UB commercial is hilarious - scores very high on the unintentional comedy scale. It seems like this guy is just a nerd who made a lot of money and likes to have a lot of fun. I don't think he takes his "rocks and rings" "1.4" stuff too seriously.

I think he used to be a self-confessed nerd type who turned to magic and card tricks to pick up girls. Nothing wrong with that! I bet he is a lot of fun to hand out with, I'm sure he and Phil had a great time when they lived together.
They're clearly v good friends, they even talk like each other, which is odd for an Iranian and an Irishman! Post HSP it seems like AE is respected a LOT more (esp. on 2+2).

[/ QUOTE ] Many of the top players were nerd/geek types growing up and many still are. They've just adapted a cover personality to mask it. Chris Ferguson is a perfect example. Take off the hat and trim the hair and beard and you have a math geek/ballroom dancer who wears floods and pants above his waist.
