Default Your Running Times

I'm really curious what all of your running times are. There are a lot of different times so just list any that you know, or that are interesting. Also any history about what you ran for or what your running goals are would be cool.

A year ago I was so out of shape, then I found my way onto the frisbee team which helped, then I started training for soccer which brings me to here...

1 mile in 6.20
1 lap in 1.07
50 meters in 6.7 seconds

My goal is to be able to run 1 1/2 miles in 8 minutes 20 seconds, along with running a lot of sprints with little rest and not killing myself. Also to run a marathon. I'm a track newbie but I'm hoping to do this in a few months time. Now your turn, what sort of track speeds are you guys messing around with.

Smoked half a pack a day for 8 years, quit on February 23rd. Started running and exercising for the first time in a couple years. Ran the LA Marathon on March 19th with a goal of finishing under 5:00. Finished in 4:56.

Instead of running now, my fitness goal is to get stronger.

Bruiser,

If you are going to put in significant mileage, I really highly recommend you go to a running store and have them take a look at your natural stride. They'll recommend a good pair of shoes for you that should help with foot pain. As far as shin splints goes, don't run on concrete -- stick to blacktop and dirt.

And the most I've ever run is about 9 or 10 miles in one session, but that was with breaks inbetween the runs. I feel like I could run for a while, 10 miles or maybe more even 15 but shin splints and my foot hurting stops me. Will have to go for a long distance run to see how far but they seem like the worst training.

Have you tried running on softer surfaces, like trails? I had trouble running more than 3-4 miles until I started running on trails. Then I trained for and ran a trail marathon, no problem.

i ran track in high school. state champions for 3/4 years i was there (not saying i had anything to do with it lol) pretty intense training. at the end of my junior/senior year i got injuries that took me out of the post-season. hamstring injury and broken ankle respectively. the injuries really prevented me from reaching a peak.

mile: 6:00
400m (1lap): 52 seconds
40m: 3.8
2miles: 13minutes and some odd seconds
800m: 2:07
100m: 12 seconds

right now im out of shape and lazy and trying to get back in shape.
