3 table S-n-G on Pokerstars with an $11 buy-in.
6 left, 5 get paid. Blinds are 300/600/50 ante I'm 5th in chips with only 2,200 left. Short stack is immediately to my right and has 1,800. I'm in the CO on this hand. UTG, who has 13,000 chips and is very loose and aggressive (he has been raising with hands like Q4s) raises to 1,800. Short-stack folds and I am holding A9o. What's my play here? |

I think folding is best here - if shortstack were on your left I might think push but he will be forced in before you will - I think you can find a better spot.

A9 is a hand that if you push and are called, more times then not, you're in real bad shape.
But, picking up the blinds would be pretty good for you. |

[/ QUOTE ] He's definitely getting called, it's like 400 more. If you were first in it's a push, but with the raise in front you might have to let it go. |

[/ QUOTE ] Except he is getting called by anything here, as he has no FE against original raiser. I think this is a fold as shorty is to your right On edit... how short is shorty |

If you're trying to win, I think you gotta go all-in. Do you think the other blinds will fold? If you can get all your money in with a hand that's likely to be ahead of your opponent most of the time you should do it. If the blinds fold you're getting an extra 1200 in the pot. So it's 2200 to win 3400. If he's raising with as little as Q4s, you're likely ahead of his raising range with A9. Even if you're behind, you're getting 1.5 to 1 on your money. I go all-in and try to give myself a shot at winning.

Fold, SNG strategy is different than regular MTT strategy. If this was a 180 on the bubble I would say push and try to double up, but in this situation I would play on the side of caution, get into the money, and fold here.
