Re: common situation
If opponent has a set, he is 2-1 dog and DOES NOT have value to call, let alone reraise. If opponent has top 2 then he is flipping a coin with said opponent and should call. In neither of these scenarios should he consider reraising. After all, if the turn pairs the king, he can fold the last $200 if his read is such. Very few good players will raise just a straight wrap here, since they must be aware that the flush draw damages their chance of winning. A straight wrap with a small flush draw sure , or an outside straight draw with small flush draw and pair also.
I would call and reassess my last $200 on the turn. No point shoving since your opponent isn't folding the turn, atleast give yourself more information. |

Re: common situation
You would be calling 200 to win 800. Your flush draw is 22.5% to hit and you have two additional outs from the aces (at a bare minimum), so calling is automatic in the scenario.

[/ QUOTE ] If you're going to call on the turn for all your money anyway why not push on the flop and see if he'll lay down some hands, he probably does have KKxx but I think a shove is better than calling him down. Although the best consideration is this, how is the table playing? If your one of the best players then you should go for the low volatitliy option of calling and re-evaluating the turn (as you have position on him but he will most likely instashove if you call). If money is hard to come by it is probably better to shove, against skill you use luck and against luck you use skill. |

Re: common situation
Yeah, maybe just calling is a better option. Reraising gives you little, if any fold equity, and you're a dog to most of his possible holdings.

Re: common situation
You've either got to go all in or fold here. I'm assuming from the numbers you actually bet the pot ($56) on the flop. So if you reraise all in you're at this point you're going to be putting in $330 to win $500, assuming you each started with $400. You need about 40% equity. You're about 45% vs. two pair, about a 2-1 dog vs. a set, and ~55-65% against something like a wrap draw. If I'm unfamiliar with my opponent I would take the conservative route and fold here. However, if I think there's even a decent chance they are betting a draw here I'll reraise.

[/ QUOTE ] This is a very common situation, and I don't think there is a "right" way to play it. Depends a lot on your reads of villains, etc. If BB is a LAG type, then it's an easy push. If BB is tight, I would fold here expecting KK most of the time. |
