Re: ILP for President
I think I bet the turn, so many draws on the flop that I don't want to risk giving free cards.
So I bet and probably call down a raise because BB didn't raise preflop and people love bluffing draws on ace cards. I use this more if I have a specific read that BB is aggro. |

i think you're missing value by checking the turn. i would bet it and check call the river

Re: ILP for President
I was thinking if he had 2 unpaired cards on the turn he would probably fold to a bet but would be likely to take a shot at it

Re: ILP for President
In a pot this small I would rather him put in 1BB with 6 outs to beat me intead of folding

Re: ILP for President
obviously, but i'm saying he's not going to do that very much. he'll check a lot because of the A and then you'll give up the whole pot for free because obviously he's not showing down JT unless he hits on the river.

i think you're missing value by checking the turn. i would bet it and check call the river [/ QUOTE ] Checking the river after Villain just calls the turn is bad. Many worse hands will call the river if you bet. Almost all of these hands will take the free showdown if you check. Nor will you collect many bluffs because you have shown too much strength. So you will lose a lot of bets when you have the best hand. When you are behind it is unlikely that Villain will check an ace or queen. He might check a better medium pocket but he won't have that hand after just calling preflop and flop. Checking saves very little when you are behind. |
