Ok... I'm turning weak-tight all of a sudden... My goal on that hand was to get a little pot-control and try to reach a showdown for cheap. Villain is 58/0/1.5 over only 50 hands. I hate that hand, but still have no idea how to play my jacks oop... please help!

This is no doubt a tough spot to be in. You got to showdown rather cheaply, so that is a good thing. I'm not giving villain credit for a hand better than mine though. I probably block the turn and river here and fold to any aggression back at me. I don't think this is as much spewing as you think.

going passive like this just lets villian value bet you to death. I would bet like 10 on turn & make a blocking bet on the river. You can't really do pot control OOP, the villian acting behind you will dictate pot size.

I'm betting that turn against this villian most of the time. The check is ok, but in that case I think you need to lead the river for about 1/3 PSB to value bet/block.
In the end you paid about as much as the hand is worth to showdown. But if villian bet a little stronger, I think you might be losing overall with this line. |

Bet $12 on the turn. The 6 probably helped you more than him, and he seems the type to call down with any piece, probably any draw (although it's difficult to tell from his stats over 50 hands). Check/call the river seems fine to me.
