Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
Can this actually be a valid strategy or did he just get lucky not to lose millions of chips this way?

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
He was confident he could outplay/push around his opponents after the flop. He was right.

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
Perhaps we'll know more when we see the hole cards from pots he took down w/out showdowns. Regardless of what he said in the interview he was getting some incredibly convenient cards. I believe he limped from early position on his T9 vs. AC's 97 hand when the flop came 998. That's not outplaying. I'm not convinced he had a hand on the huge limp reraise that he took down however.

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
Big stack, huge M, why not see a bunch of flops. Also may cause small stacks to steal less (and therfore stay small) if they perceive less fold equity by not be able to open raise. Maintains table captaincy. No one made him pay, so no reason to stop. The list is somewhat endless.

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
no one was repopping him and everyone (including AC to an extent) was playing extremely weak against him post flop, he was seeing a ton of flops in position and then bullying postflop. He played the table perfectly!

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
It allowed him to control the preflop play more effectively. They feared the limp/reraise, so they were more hesistant to raise. Gold got to see lots of flops for cheap and just bullied around the rest of the table with no resistance against him.

Re: Any justification of Gold\'s EP limping?
I think his play was excellent considering his chip count and the way he used that limping to his psychological advantage. People feared the check raise from him and the floating flat call when in position. Despite being an angle shooter imo he played great.
