Also, do you have specific reasons for your answer?

What's your tolerance for variance? HU SnGs are probably teh most profitable, but offer the most variance.

That's exactly my experience, but it seems highly counter-intuitive to me, since the fact that they are relatively deep-stacked, and the fact that you're HU against a usually weaker player (assuming you're a long term winner). Why, then, is variance higher? |

Anyway, I'll keep looking. |

6max because you have 5 other players that you can study and exploit rather quickly AND you can use/steal position rather frequently. This is harder in full ring because there's twice as many people to deal with and having position is infrequent. Plenty of spots to play real post-flop poker which is where most of our opponents fail horribly.
Average winrate at SNG is about 34% and you wont profit if you place 3rd or 2nd more than 1st. Seems as though these games have become a little tighter than in the past, comes down to lots of coin-flips. HU? I dont know how i feel about playing it exclusively, Id like to hear other peoples take on it |

I like full ring nl cash games because often you are playing rocks and TAGs.
The opportunity to win a lot of small pots is available with some early aggression. If there is a bad player at the table they are easy to spot amongst the Rocks and TAGs. A bad TAG/ROCK is easy to stack if they don't know how to bet. When they raise pre-flop, but not that much and you catch trips or a flush or a straight or even Ax and catch your kicker, they have a hard time laying down AK,KK,AA...because they don't play many hands and with all your aggression they think you are a donkey. You should be able to pick up a lot of small pots and a big one every now and then. Just be able to laydown hands and make sure you are chasing draws for cheap. Also a full ring game will sometimes get down to just 3 or 4 players every now and then and an aggressive player can really clean house here. Then when it starts to fill back up you can spot the bad players and the tight players and start all over again. One caveat ![]() If you can sit at a table and double or triple up the max buy-in within 1 to 2 hours thats not too bad. |
