its been a while - checkup
Absolute 3/6 6max
Villian 1 is agg both pf and post flop. He is also a decent player and knows how to play the game. If I had to guess, he was likely 27/17. Villian 2 is pretty loose pf, and not very agg post flop. He was something like 40/4. v1 opens utg, I 3bet in mp with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], v2 cold calls, v1 caps, and we call. Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] v1 leads, I .... do I call or raise, and why? |

Re: its been a while - checkup
I assume V2 is in late position.
Easiest raise ever. Protect against v2's possible gutshots and such and the pot is big enough that you would like to win now. Edit: Are you thinking of going for overcalls because the board is dry? |

Yeah I raise this... this is a situation that I think I over-aggro and scare people away too early frequently.

Edit: Are you thinking of going for overcalls because the board is dry? [/ QUOTE ] that, and pf capper likely has TT+, AK. So a raise may let him get away cheaply with TT-QQ, and open up teh betting for him with KK, AA, AK. But, like you said, the pot is getting big, and I wouldn't mind taking it down now. edit: I guess there is a slight chance v1 could have capped w/ AQ, but I hadn't play with him for a while, so not sure how crazy he was getting. I figured with the 3rd player in there, he wasn't messing around. |

Re: its been a while - checkup
27,720 games 0.031 secs 894,193 games/sec
Board: Kd 7c 5s Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 70.2002 % 59.57% 10.63% { AhKs } Hand 2: 29.7998 % 19.17% 10.63% { TT+, AKs, AKo } --- So you're probably WA. If it were heads up this would be an ideal place for a WA/WB line in position (i.e. raise the river). About 20% of the time he'll 3-bet us here and we are drawing thin, but will probably call down. 10% of the time he'll 3-bet us and well call down and chop. Also, note this: 1,390,620 games 0.328 secs 4,239,695 games/sec Board: Kd 7c 5s Dead: equity (%) win (%) tie (%) Hand 1: 57.4303 % 48.81% 08.62% { AhKs } Hand 2: 25.1487 % 16.57% 08.58% { TT+, AKs, AKo } Hand 3: 17.4210 % 17.38% 00.05% { JJ-55, AQs-ATs, KTs+, QJs, AQo } Big jump in equity for us if we can get SB out. |

Re: its been a while - checkup
I don't hate a call here. I don't hate just call call calling this hand to keep these loose monkeys around. I don't mind a raise in here somewhere, either, but I think I'd rather do it on a more expensive street.

Re: its been a while - checkup
I like a flop raise and expect the fish to call down with QQ-TT anyways.

You are going to offer something like 15:1 for the 3rd player. If you want to have the loose monkey's around, make sure they aren't getting the right price to call. Give your opponents the possibility to make a mistake! |

Re: its been a while - checkup
call & re-eval on the turn. I think he's folding to your raise. The other guy is probably drawing slim. I'm torn though, because it's a big pot.

The other guy is probably drawing slim. [/ QUOTE ] Two outs is probably enough to make a profitable call when you don't raise the flop (and we assume he is going to play the turn correctly by check/folding UI). When we call and wait to raise on the turn, this line probably just forced your opponent to play perfectly. |
