Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
FW's the other day.
Guy moves over from the must move and proceeds a non-stopping monologue during each hand. He was generally driving everyone nuts and being a jerk but he was playing badly so, the decent players put up with it. I fold T8o and there are 2 limpers and this guy raises out of the BB. Flop is TT5, he checks, 1st limper bets, 2nd one folds, BB calls. Turn of course is an 8, now the BB fires and the limper calls. River of course is the case T and the BB fires and the limper calls. BB says, "I have a 5" and the limper (sitting in the 1 seat)says "That beats me" and drops his hand on top of the muck. BB turns over 64o for 6 high. Limper is not happy and picks up his 2 cards. Obviously a dispute ensues and the floor is called over. Dealer tells the story and says that he saw a J in the hand of the limper as his hand was going on top of the muck. Who gets the pot? |

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
If the misrepresentation was intentional, Seat 1 wins with the last live hand.

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
One more example of why you should,
_Hold on to your cards untill you see that you're beat, or the pot is being pushed to you_ Who get's the pot? Depends on the house rules. Probabally 6 high gets the pot with a stern warning. Limper is reminded to protect his hand. |

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
Limper gets the pot. Misrepresenting your hand/ intentionally miscalling your hand is against the rules in most cardrooms and if they let one angleshooter get away with it, the cardroom will be overrun with angleshoots.

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
I would need to be there to rule.
While steamraise is technically right....I am going to do everything in my power to get the other guy the pot: 1) If cards are retrievable, they are going to be retrieved. 2) If more that one player saw the the other player's hand, I might rule it live. I won't tolerate a player misrepresenting their hand. Also, this is a dealer training issue. When a player calls his hand, I treain the dealers to IMMEDIATELY ask the player to table the hand. This alleviates the player angle-shooting. |

But if someone mucks without seeing he's beat I slide his cards into the muck... |

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
To the OP, and anybody else,
What would you have done if the guy said "I have the 10", would you instantly speak up ? |

[/ QUOTE ] Assuming it is at the showdown, and not midhand comments, I would speak up but I'd do it in a way that doesn't accuse the guy miscalling his hand of cheating (bad for table dynamics). I'd say something like "I folded a T so with your T that makes 5 T's in this deck. Dealer, could you please check this deck for 5 tens after the players have shown their cards". |

That is exactly what you are supposed to do.

Re: Ruling on hand \"misrepresentation\"
How can the limper not be awarded this pot? The BB deliberately miscalled his hand. In fact, he can't even say "I meant I had the five on the board," since his hand was actualy TTT86.
