400nl, AQs from the blinds
Villian in this hand is solid, and 22/16 when 5 or 6 handed (note that we are 3 handed.) He likely thinks me nitty. What is your action on the turn?

Either lead out for around 175 or plan to check raise all in.

[/ QUOTE ] (I'm new to SHNL so bear with me) If Villain thinks he's a bit of a nit, is he only calling with a set here, or is 88-JJ enough of a possibility for a c/r line (that I prefer to leading for 175 because I think we're only getting called by a set) to be profitable? |

Re: 400nl, AQs from the blinds
Certainly the best turn card you could have hoped for. Ace might have given him two pair, but the queen seems perfectly safe.
If, say, a Jh had been the turn card, some percentage of the time you would have made a second continuation bet, right? (Hopefully not a big percentage, but not zero either. My gut says about 15-20% but I haven't done the math.) OK, with this hand, something like 90% of the time, make the same bet that you would have made as a second barrel continuation (and plan to go all in on the river). The other 10% go for the check-raise all in. If he has a set, he gets your chips. But three-handed, TPTK is a good hand often enough to put some money behind it. |

Re: 400nl, AQs from the blinds
Hmm...the question is do you want to build a big pot with your hand? Your hand is pretty strong, but I wouldn't want to go all-in with it. I would check the turn. If he bets, I call. If he checks, I value-bet out on the river. If he pushes on the river after I bet, I would fold 70% of the time.

I'd bet 150-200 here and push river. |
