The 2006 Men\'s NCAA BB champion is.....
Post your picks here, and come back and gloat in early April.
I'm a syracuse fan, so I watch alot of big east games, and the best team I've seen all year is UCONN. They are too big up front, have a quality PG, a good 3pt shooter, a superstar, and a HOF head coach. Sounds like a winner to me |

Indiana University.
Yes, I know. They've had problems with Mike Davis as the coach. But I also know that they're the best shooting team in Division 1, play good defense, move the ball around, and have one of the best players in the country in Marco Killingsworth. I also know that they've already beaten Ohio State and Illinois, and HAMMERED Kentucky. They've got a February 4th date in Assembly Hall with UConn, as well as road trips to Wisconsin and Illinois. Also, I'm a shameless homer for this team and really don't want to think about them playing without DJ White for the rest of the year. Honestly, I don't think anybody will stop Duke come March Madness. That's when they really come out and play. But I can hope that this is finally the year the Crimson and Cream are as good as they look like they can be. |

Duke, but this team wouldn't even make the Elite 8 most years.

How embarassed were you when they stormed the court after beating UofI?

How embarassed were you when they stormed the court after beating UofI? [/ QUOTE ] I was at that game, and I was ashamed. Storming the court against a conference foe that you were favored to beat is absurd. College kids today have grown up with Sportscenter glorifying it their whole lives, they don't understand that a 5 time NCAA champ school shouldn't be doing that against anyone, much less against a conference opponent. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well put. Much has changed in IU's attitude both on the court and from the fans/student body since Coach Knight was fired. I didn't know they were favored to beat Illinois? Either way, it was not something I expect from IU, but it could've been much worse. At least now the fans of the Hoosiers have something to cheer for, even if our best player is a senior transfer. Another good run in the tournament (or even MAKING the tourney) will be good for recruiting. Sad that you have to say that about IU... |

Re: The 2006 Men\'s NCAA BB champion is.....
While I like IU's talent this year, I'm noticing one disturbing trend
Killingsworth can be exposed on defense. Pruitt of Illinois and the Boilermakers last night scored all the time when he tried defending the low block. Also, the guy is a head-case and it will take 4+ games in a row of him not blowing up in pressure situations for IU to go far. But, you're right; the team definitely has the potential. |
