Location: Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens, CA
Stakes: $300-$500 buy-in, $5/$5 blinds Players: A very tightish passive table. Not a lot of big pots in the few orbits I've been playing. Probably a ** of 5 table. Principal players: SB - Young semi-loose player. Not too much known about him. Stack = $340 BB - Relative unknown Stack = $700 Button - Me with Stack = $600ish The rest of the table has anywhere from around $300 to $600 chips. On to the hand: Preflop: (Pot = $10) UTG limps, MP limps, CO limps, I find A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and limp. SB checks, BB decides to disturb the party and raise to $25 straight and everyone calls to SB who dejectedly also calls. Flop: (Pot = $150, 6 players). A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Everyone checks to me. I check? All comments appreciated. Results forthcoming. Garland |

Honestly I don't know what to say, as I have no experience to match or compare to this. I don't think I have ever limp/called a raise with AJs OTB PF in a passive game my whole life.
Not trying to be overly critical here, so I am asking an honest question here... Why are you being so passive? Having a bad run, not enough sleep, too much to drink, some sort of sick read, did you see AA in the blinds hand or something? |

I think preflop should be raise.
prepare for a lot of "you should bet flop" without any reasoning. I'm just not looking to put in 1/6 of my stack on this flop, since if called I have about pot left and its pretty damn awkward on a blank turn since you can't make any turn bet without committing yourself. I think betting flop is pretty bad actually. especially given bb pfr checked. |

Adjusting to a table full of nits is not my forte as I turn weak-tight myself. It's a leak I'm working on, but to my credit, I would probably request a table change or simply leave and find another game...even limit if that were the only place to get good action.
I felt as if I were at the Venetian all over again. God...what a horror show. Why didn't I raise preflop? I didn't mind a multi-way field being suited. If I were off-suit, I would definitely raise. Who the hell is this Leptyne character anyways? I wasn't even aware he made those posts, but I suppose it's funny anyways. No, I don't coach. Results: I forgot to mention that SB checked the flop dark. Turn ($150 pot, 6 players): 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Everyone checks to me, and how I feel that I can bet safely with $100 and take it down, but SB wakes up and min-raises me to $200. I say "you sat on a flush twice?" and fold. He showed T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. I felt that anyone here would slowplay a flush once, but if I bet the flop, I would get called by K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] along with the naked K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] alike and couldn't tell the difference and may have to commit to a lot of chips on the turn drawing possibly dead. If anyone came out firing on the flop or turn, I'd probably release the hand. Thanks for your thoughts, Garland |
