Default QUICK! Where should I go tonight (Chicago)

Majestic Star, Resorts East, or trek up to Patawatomi?

I'm looking to play 5/10 NL

Potawatomi only has 3-5 NL $200 min/$600 max. Resorts is your choice.

Resorts is the easy choice. if you call ahead to Majestic Star II, I hear that they have a good 5/5 NL ($500 max) game going sometime. Resorts will always have a 5/10 NL ($500 max) game going though, usually 2 tables, sometimes 3 on a busy weekday.

Has Majestic gone downhill since it took over Trump's? I haven't been there for about 6 months and play $2/$5 NL and didn't like the staff at Resorts when I went once on a weekday.

I went to Majestic for the first time since the change this past Saturday. I found things to be OK. Some newer and slower dealers, but a lot of the good dealers from Trump remain. The room was very busy throughout the day.

As for the NL games, they had a ton of the 200 max games. Around 4 pm, they started a 500 max table. I played in that game and it was fairly good. Unfortunately, it broke after about 2 hours. As of 11 pm, they were unable to get the game going again. So, I went over to Resorts.

As for Resorts, my first experience there a few years ago was bad too. However, I gave them a second chance and am now a semi-regular on the weekends. If you want good NL action, Resorts is a better bet.

Can you call ahead up to an hour in advance to put yourself on the list at Resorts?

Yes, but beware. Since the list is computerized (the typical QueueOS thing), it will mercilessly delete you after exactly one hour. I once actually saw myself get deleted while waiting for the brush to acknowledge me standing at the desk.
