audioslave is pretty sweet though. i think rage did what they set out to do. their first two albums were fantastic, and things went downhill from there. i think the breaking up and refocus on a different type of music has been good for everyone.

I wasn't sad when Rage broke up, I thought it was all downhill from the first album. I liked Evil Empire but that was where it ended for me. The first album set the bar ridiculously high.

Jawbreaker broke up before I got a chance to see them live, that always made me sad. I remember being very unhappy when Hum called it quits, even though I saw them before they threw in the towel.

At the Drive In might be the best answer I can come up with.

[/ QUOTE ]I think their first album was amazing, but there others were all very very good....they just had the misfortune of always being compared to the first.

The New Radicals - their first (and only) CD is my favourite CD ever, and they broke up soon after they released it

I liked them but recently I saw their first single played on MTV and I really hated it, only ever heard two songs and one of them I now don't like... what other songs were good?

I came to this thread planning to say RATM, but I guess the OP has great taste too

2 Skinnee J's. Once I moved to Nashville, I never saw them live again as they didn't swing this far south. A real pity.
