Does anyone hate Jeremy Schaap as much as I do?

I don't post many rants, but the very sound of his voice fills me with rage. His stories are so contrived and overwrought it makes me nauseous. Can't he do one [censored] story and just report what happened without it sounding like a story about an 8 year old cancer patient making some miraculous recovery? Jesus Christ. It's so over the top it has to be phony.

There's a great episode of the Simpsons I think of every time I hear him. Bart and Lisa start their own news show at school. It gets bad ratings so Bart starts doing these overwrought tug-at-the-heartstrings sap pieces while Lisa sticks to hard hittting stories but without the theatrics. Of course Bart's ratings soar while Lisa's cotinue to plummet. When I take over ESPN he's the first one out on his ass, and that's saying something given that they also currently employ Jim Rome and Steven A. Smith.

I don't mind Schaap. Your points are legit, but among ESPN personalities, there are many I hate, but he is not one. I hate Anderson, that guy who shouts, but his name escapes me, Kenny Mayne, among others.

I'm pretty sure that Schaap was dealt a pretty bad hand with that nasally voice of his. That said, I don't care for him either, mostly because I thought his old man was overrated.

Then again, I only really knew Dick from the Sports Reporters days, but he came off as a fence straddler supreme. I guess being a gentleman is preferable to being a sh*t-stirrer, but he never really said anything I found interesting, and it seems to have been passed along a generation.
