Default I make banks run out of hundreds

So here's a little problem I've been having.

A few months ago, I went to Bank of America before a trip to Atlantic City, to withdraw about $2000. Well, they gave me about $800 of it in $50s and $20s, and when I protested, she said "I can only give you a certain amount of $100s." Fine, I took the $800 to Wachovia and changed it to $100s there.

A few days ago, I went to Bank of America to withdraw about $2000 again. And again, $800 of it was in $50s. No problem, again I took it to Wachovia and changed it to $100s.

Also, I had made withdrawals from Wachovia before and always got it all in $100s. So it seemed like Wachovia > BofA

until... today, I went to Wachovia, to make another withdrawal, for $3000. The teller said, "I don't have many $100s left..." and gave me what she had. I got $1700 in $50s. Soo... I took that to BofA, waited in line for 15 minutes, only to have them tell me that they were out of $100s. What! There's no one hundred dollar bills in this bank?? I mean, I sorta understand when you only want to give me a set amount, but now you're gonna tell me that this whole branch is completely out of one hundred dollar bills? Fine, whatever.

So, it seems like I'm in that awkward phase where this is a problem. Because, you high rollers probably just wire your money. And low rollers can probably always get what you need. But as a mid-stakes player, when I need roughly $3-5k for a trip and don't happen to have all of it sitting in my drawer leftover from last time, I seem to run into this hassle.

Does anyone have a bank that always has the $100s you need? Or does everyone else just not detest $50s like I do?

I have gotten up to $9000 in $100 bills no problem. I think they just don't like you

.. but seriously, why not keep an emergency stash of $3000 in a book in your room? you'll always have some money ready no matter what the situation is -poker or emergencies

I've run into this problem too. The casino never runs out of hundreds so I just change up there. Also I tend to just withdraw the max from the ATM for a few days before I go (darn banks aren't open when I'm normally awake) so I've got a very thick wad of 20's :0)

Try not losing all your money every session and you won't have this problem :P

Does anyone else hate the fact that $100 are the highest cash denomination? once you get past 2k all theose bills become a hassel. They need to bring back the $500 bill

Yeah - I miss the old $1000 bill that we had up here in Canada.

It was fun to try and pay for gum with it!

I think they should skip the $500 and issue $1,000 bills. It'd be so much easier for casinos.

When were $500s pulled?
