Default Throwdown with Bobby Flay

It's on right now. I'm digging this show. It's like a cross between Punk'd and Iron Chef. The Food Network finds people who are specialists at cooking one thing really well. They then convince them that they're going to do a show about them. Then, Bobby Flay shows up to surprise the unsuspecting chef, and challenge them to a contest (ala Iron Chef) at whatever the person's specialty is. Last week, he won against a guy who is a chowder expert. Right now, he's challenging a marine who's also an award winning steak chef.

How do they decide who wins? Judges? If so, is the tasting blind? That's what really annoyed me about Iron Chef, the judges knew who made what so even the illusion of impartiality was ruined.

Exactly what I've been waiting for...another Food Network show where Bobby Flay talks about how great he is.

I saw the first one, it was good.

Bobby Flay is easy to hate, but pretty much everybody I know/have seen that's tasted his food (stuff that he made, not just from Mesa Grill or whatever) has had super good things to say about it.

Its scary to think how many housewives are probably thinking of BF and Tyler when their husbands are screwing them at night.

I never thought of a chef as being in the "easy to hate" category. Why is this?

Where does one get stuff he made other than his restaurant, at least common folk that is?
