Default Gold Standards for Genres
As I was drinking a Sierra Nevada the other day, I was thinking how it is clearly the gold standard for pale ales. I came up with a couple of others real quick, does anyone else have any good ones? This isn't what you think is the best, but what would poll among everyone familar with that genre as the gold standard.

I think steel is the gold standard for metals, but gold would be the gold standard for precious metals.

I think that is a little too broad, but I would definitely agree Pavement for Slacker Rock.
