Hand from the WSOP 2500nl (not mine) but interesting I think.
If this should be in wsop discussion I apologize, someone move it pls.
levels 50/100 utg+1 with 850 chips total opens for 200. utg+3 with 4k calls. cutoff with 4k calls. Hero with 1700 and KK makes it 600(?) bb with 6k calls the raise.... utg+1 shoves for his last 650 (250 more). utg+3 calls cutoff calls Hero tries to shove (strong move but obv not legal, and is forced to only put in 250 more), and the bb calls. Flop 996 with 2 clubs checks to the hero who shoves for his last 850.. BB thinks for a while and calls with 44 and spikes a 4 on the river to bust hero. (utg+1 had the other 2 kings btw lol) Thoughts on the preflop play? sheets |

Re: Hand from the WSOP 2500nl (not mine) but interesting I think.
Were you trying to induce the short stack to push over your reraise so you can raise it again? Was the the initial plan?
edit: Oh and I just shove preflop facing that action. |

I'd do that sometimes but then I'm also a total internet donk and probably don't realize that you can't shove if UTG+1 repops...ugh.
Normally I'd just push PF but with these stacks/blinds it's really tempting to take a gamble and get action. hmm. |

I hate to see four way action with any hand, including aces Stipe |

Re: Hand from the WSOP 2500nl (not mine) but interesting I think.
I'd much rather just push given the amount of money that's in the pot. I don't see what this smaller raise is trying to accomplish; I'm already expecting that anybody raising that much of their stack is planning on playing for their stack, so the illegal push coming back to me doesn't really add much in the way of intimidation.

Was the intention for the hand to play out as it did but hero didn't consider that if shorty pushed he couldn't reraise? I guess I would push first time around, but if hero raises to like 500 the first time then he can push after shorty, right?

I'd normally just push, becuase that's what I'd do with a more marginal hand here too, but the smaller raise is ok too I think. Making it like 525 to go would be pretty sweet though so you can push over UTG+1, as long as your opponents aren't observant enough to realize what's going on.

a minraise then push would be [censored] awesome for hero. and i dont think the opposition are observant enough to see it coming
